Daffodil and the Rajasthan Princess
This piece has a connection between the British Rule 1858-1947 and India Maharajas! As I wandered through the streets of Rajasthan, I was smitten with the bright colours of the women’s and the colours of the spicy foods. The flower painting merges the two cultures with a tribute paid to all who lost their lives (on both sides) during the Rajh-rule and the British grappling for a toe hold. They were turbulent times!
