This flower means a lot to me as I first met her species on my Mother’s front porch in a hanging basket. When I was it , the bloom had already withdrawn and was spent. My mother explained that these flowers open at twilight and then die at dawn. So their radiance only shines for a short time in the night. It has always fascinated me and I have at last painted it. This painting is sitting in Traffic Jam Gallery, Neutral Bay, Sydney waiting for someone to fall in love with  her.

Description

This flower means a lot to me as I first met her species on my mother’s front porch in a hanging basket! When I saw it, it had already bloomed and was withdrawn and spent! Mum explained to me that these flowers open at twilight and then die at dawn! So their radiance only shines for a short time in the night. A little bit like our lives, as we bloom and shine for a just a short while before it’s over! So let’s enjoy life as much as we can right now!! ” Its better to leave the planet with memories then unfulfilled dreams”!
