The Blue and Gold
I appropriated the saying from Arthur Streeton when he was talking about the Australian Landscape. Being a colonial painter in the Heidelberg School – 1867-1943 (comparing the atmosphere of Australia to that of his birth Land, England.) he saw the land through very romantic eyes. Sheep grazing, wheat ripening and the blue, blue skies. The landscape I like to paint however is more orientated towards the desert, dry, dusty and utterly, dramatically beautiful.
