PRINT – MAKING

WOOD CUTS

I have opened up the vault and discovered these dramatic woodcuts that were done a few years ago. They were a response to my Son’s poetry which he began sending to me via letters when we were both traveling. Me in Spain and him in Africa. I was so inspired that I vowed to make a whole series of works on my interpretation of his soulful poems.

I used compressed particle board and employed wood cutting and lino-cutting tools. Each one is based on certain aspects of his life and experiences, both abroad and at home in Australia. These prints may be purchased in any size you desire but the general measurement is 30x45cm. They can also be framed and delivered to you from Blue Wren.

They have a distinctive presence about them and can even be more evocative as a group of 4-6.
